Chairman's Chatter
Chairman’s Chatter Updated 10th January 2010

Thanks to all for turning out to hear Ann Rich the other Sunday, in spite of terrible weather forecasts we fared quite well and many members made it to Gisburn. Ann’s fascinating exploits in the 2009 Gordon Bennett Gas Balloon race where Ann and Janet Folkes broke the Women’s Balloon Duration world record kept us all enthralled for 2 hours despite almost artic conditions in the meeting room. Congratulations to Ann and Janet for their fantastic effort coming sixth overall and well beating the British number one team. Apart from the February meeting which is a brewery trip, (see details on the web site, nwbac.com), we still have our regular third Tuesday in the month meetings in the tap room of the Travellers Rest at Shaw Green on the A581, (Map Ref SD 530187) which is about 1 mile east of our old venue, The Mill at Croston. For members and prospective members who are interested in Flying I will be taking along various operations and training manuals for you to look at and we can try and organise crewing and practice sessions for you. I hope you all received your copy of Compass Points which contains a Map with the Travellers Rest marked for you. I look forward to seeing you all. Derek G - chair@nwbac.com
