Concorde Weekend - 7th/8th Aug 2004
Manchester International Airport

Hot - really hot. Just what you need for tethering!

Unfortunately we didn't get permission to fly out from the airport which meant travelling some distance to take-off spots. Friday evening was from Park Hall near Camelot, I don't know where they disappeared to on Saturday - no doubt someone will tell me.

Fairly thermic for tethering during the day - and too windy to do anything much on Sunday.

Great BBQ on Saturday night, and a tour of Concorde. Thanks to Austin and the Spotters Team for the organisation and warm welcome.

Slots: Friday evening
Saturday morning
Tethering all day
Saturday evening
Sunday - too windy!!

Photos from Mike & Kathryn Ball, Dave Smith, Self and we'll pop in more as they turn up

Something about after-burners...

The field for tethering - taken from the basket of Fort Vale - about as high as the top of the tail fin - if you look at the horizon line

Cheeky chappie - that Snowman!

Snowman in on the act again

.. but wait - who's this trying to steal the limelight?
